    Easter Eggs

Discover playful space computers, friendly dragons, secret codes and retro sounds with Thalovant Easter Eggs.

Thalovant Easter Eggs adds short, playful surprises to your voice assistant. It has 20 themes, 40 original sound effects and two replies for each theme in six languages. The surprises work offline once the skill is installed.

This is the Thalovant edition of OpenVoiceOS Easter Eggs, originally created by JarbasAI, revived by mikejgray, and maintained by the OpenVoiceOS contributors. Thalovant rebuilt it with SkillKit as a standalone repository, so GitHub does not mark it as a fork. Both projects use Apache-2.0. The new replies and effects are original; upstream recordings are not included.

This first release is available from its Git repository. It is not yet listed in the Skill Store. You need access to the private Thalovant source repository. Follow Add Your Own Skill with:

Choose a test skill set and supply read-only Git access through the installation form. Wait for installed, then say “open easter eggs.” You should hear a short menu. Every hub using that skill set receives the skill.

    SayDiscover
“Open the pod bay doors”A space computer with a soft spot for biscuits.
“What would GLaDOS say?”An imaginary testing computer and an unusual cake test.
“May the force be with you”A space hero’s surprisingly ordinary mission.
“Beam me up”A transporter with snacks ready for the journey.
“Summon a friendly dragon”A small dragon with a small but important job.
“Cast an Easter egg spell”A wizard who might find your missing shoe.
“Start the secret arcade”A pocket-sized game adventure.
“Activate the secret code”A bonus room or infinite kindness mode.
“Open the Easter egg treasure chest”An unexpected treasure.
“Give me an Easter egg mission”A secret mission you can actually try.
“Surprise me with an Easter egg”A theme chosen for you.

There are also pirates, friendly ghosts, time machines, rainbows, level-ups, parties and cheeky robots. The replies are original jokes inspired by familiar stories. They use your normal assistant voice, not an actor’s voice or a movie recording. There is no adult mode or automatic holiday playback.

After a surprise, say “another one” for a different theme, or “repeat that one” to hear the same words and sound. “Again” also repeats the last one. Each speaker has their own history. These follow-ups expire after 90 seconds without a new or repeated surprise and stop after eight follow-ups; ask for a new Easter egg to start again. Wake-word behavior depends on your voice client.

Say “Stop” to end your session and stop its queued audio. Other speakers keep their sessions. A timer, news request or unrelated sentence is left to the appropriate skill.

For words alone, say “tell me an Easter egg quote.” For an effect alone, say “play an Easter egg sound.” The skill setting sounds_enabled: false turns off effects and keeps spoken replies. Your device controls volume; the skill does not change it.

These are original effects from the skill. Each lasts less than two seconds. Press Play to listen; the page never starts them automatically.

Enable the desired language for your hub and voice client, then try:

    LanguageOpen the menu
    English“Open easter eggs”
    French“Ouvre les surprises cachées”
    Spanish“Abre las sorpresas ocultas”
    German“Öffne die Easter Eggs”
    Italian“Apri le sorprese nascoste”
    Brazilian Portuguese“Abra as surpresas escondidas”
    European Portuguese“Abre as surpresas escondidas”

The 22 packaged locales cover these regions:

    • English: United States, Canada, Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland.
    • French: France, Canada, Belgium and Switzerland.
    • Spanish: Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and the United States.
    • German: Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
    • Italian: Italy and Switzerland.
    • Portuguese: Brazil and Portugal.

Regional versions share translations, with selected wording differences. The skill preserves the requested voice language. Other compatible regional tags use SkillKit’s language fallback; that does not mean every dialect has had a separate translation or listening review.

Ask for a dragon, repeat it, then ask for another surprise. Check that speech and audio reach the same device, that the volume is comfortable, and that Stop works. Try two speakers separately if you share the hub.

If words play but effects do not, check sounds_enabled and the client’s audio output. If a localized request is not recognized, check that its language is enabled on the hub. Use What Can I Ask? to see the phrases currently installed on your hub.
