Configure Runtime

Runtime config changes the shared defaults for one skill set.

Use it when a hub group needs a different language, location, speech setup, or blocked-skill list. For most first setups, the workspace default is enough.

Before changing runtime, make sure the problem is about shared defaults. If you only need to add or remove one ability, use Skills instead. Read Runtime first when you need the model.

Runtime config is guided: start with everyday defaults, review the summary, then save.
  • one hub group needs different language, location, speech, or blocked-skill defaults;
  • the workspace default skill set would affect too many hubs;
  • you know which skill set owns the change;
  • Dashboard or Live Map shows runtime attention after a change.

Confirm three things:

Right skill set

Make sure you selected the skill set used by the hub you want to change.

Right hubs

Check Assignments so you know which hubs will receive the change.

Right time

Saving runtime config can restart the runtime, so do it when a brief refresh is acceptable.

  1. Open Skills. Choose the skill set you want to change.
  2. Check Assignments. Confirm which hubs use this skill set.
  3. Open Runtime config. This opens the guided config drawer.
  4. Set general defaults. Choose primary language, secondary languages, location, speech-to-text, and text-to-speech.
  5. Review blocked skills. Add only skills that should stay blocked for this skill set.
  6. Review the summary. Use the generated summary as a final check.
  7. Save. The runtime restarts so the new settings can apply.
  8. Return to Dashboard and Live Map. Confirm health returns to the expected state.

Use General for everyday defaults: language, location, speech-to-text, and text-to-speech. Most runtime changes belong here.

When a runtime setting is important, use this pattern:

  1. Create or choose a separate skill set when only one hub should change.
  2. Assign one test hub to that skill set before changing many hubs.
  3. Apply the runtime config change.
  4. Check the test hub.
  5. Move more hubs only after the result is clear.

Runtime configuration is done when:

  • the changed skill set is assigned only to the intended hubs;
  • the Summary matches what you meant to change;
  • runtime has restarted or refreshed successfully;
  • Dashboard shows no unexpected runtime attention item;
  • Live Map returns to the expected connection state.
