Install Thalovant Voice

Thalovant Voice is the room client for voice setups.

Install it on the computer that should listen and speak, then return to the setup link so the client can pair.

  • the setup page asks you to install Thalovant Voice;
  • nothing opens when you choose Open Thalovant Voice;
  • you need the macOS, Windows, or Linux installer;
  • you are setting up a Linux computer over SSH;
  • you need relay mode for an advanced voice setup.
QuestionSimple answer
Where do I install it?On the computer that should listen and speak.
What pairs the client?The setup link, not the installer alone.
What is easiest on Linux?Copy the install command from the setup or download page.
What is headless Linux?A command you can paste over SSH with the setup link included.
What is relay mode?An advanced voice runtime choice for special deployments.

Confirm:

  • you are on the computer that should run voice;
  • the setup link is still available;
  • you know whether this is a normal room client or an advanced relay setup;
  • you can install apps or run a terminal command on that computer.

If the setup link expired, create a new setup link from Connections before reinstalling.

macOS

Download the macOS app, open it, then return to the setup link.

Windows

Download the Windows setup app, run it, then return to the setup link.

Linux desktop

Copy the Linux command, paste it in Terminal, and keep the setup page open.

Headless Linux

Copy the headless command and include the setup link when you paste it over SSH.

  1. Open the setup link. It chooses the best install action for the current computer.
  2. Install Thalovant Voice. Use the download or command shown for your platform.
  3. Return to the setup page. The setup link handles pairing and credentials.
  4. Open Thalovant Voice. Use the button again after installation if nothing opened the first time.
  5. Wait for connected. Keep the app running until Dashboard shows the first heartbeat.

For Linux desktop setup, copy the Linux install command from the setup page or the downloads page. Paste it once in Terminal.

For headless Linux, copy the headless command and replace the placeholder with the setup link before running it over SSH.

The setup link inside a copied command is private. Treat the whole command like a password.

Most users should choose Satellite.

Choose Relay only when the setup page or your deployment notes tell you the voice runtime should run in relay mode. Relay mode is advanced and should still use the same private setup link.

  • permissions match what the voice client should be allowed to do.
