Use this page when children will talk to a Thalovant hub at home, at school, or in a public place.

Every Thalovant account belongs to an adult. Children never hold their own account. They use a hub that an adult sets up for them, and that hub keeps as little about them as possible.

If you're choosing between Home and Family for a household with children, or you run a hub that children might use, such as a library or classroom hub, this page says what each option keeps.

## Accounts Are for Adults

When you sign up, you confirm that you are 18 or older. The same confirmation appears when you sign in with Google or another provider for the first time. An adult who holds an account is responsible for the hubs and devices it sets up, including the ones children use.

## Two Ways for Children to Use Thalovant

    A public or owned hub marked for children. It keeps no transcript, no IP
    address, no memory, and no conversation journal.

    On the Family plan, a kids' hub template gives the child profile its own
    hub with memory turned off.

## What a Kid-Labelled Hub Keeps

| Data | Kept? |
| --- | --- |
| What the child said (utterance text) | No. |
| IP address | No. |
| Personal memory | No. |
| Conversation journal | No. |

The same rule covers anonymous visitors and the browser preview on public hubs. Nobody is signed in there, so nothing about the conversation is kept.

## Set Up a Family Kids' Profile

The Family plan includes two owned hubs, a second adult login, and a kids' hub template.

1. **Choose Family in Billing.** Family starts with a 14-day trial on your first subscription.
2. **Invite the second adult.** Family includes one extra adult login, for example a partner or co-parent.
3. **Create the kids' hub from the template.** The template creates a hub for the child profile with memory turned off.
4. **Connect the child's device to that hub.** Use a device that only the child uses, so it never reaches the adult hub.
5. **Keep access rules narrow.** Give the child's device question-style access only.

  Memory stays off on the kids' profile. The assistant does not remember anything the child says between sessions.

## Skills for Children

The Skill Store does not include YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, SoundCloud, or Bandcamp skills. Radio and news skills stay available. Review the skills on a child's hub before you connect the device, and remove anything you do not want them to use.

Thalovant clients show a short AI disclosure at first contact, so children and adults know they are talking to an AI. See [AI Disclosure](/developers/ai-disclosure/).

## Check a Child's Setup

A child's setup is ready when:

- an adult holds the account and set up the hub;
- the child's device connects to a kid-labelled hub or the Family kids' profile hub;
- memory is off on that hub;
- the device has narrow, question-style access rules;
- you checked the skills on that hub.
